Lake George 9/13

Headed up to the north end of the lake this morning. Launched out of Rogers Rock SP. I've never fished this lake before, but bought a map with fishing tips (where to go, what to use, etc). The guy at the bait shop said that lakers were being taken at 80ft, and salmon at 50ft. I was marking fish on the sonar anywhere from 70ft to 140ft. After trolling with dipsy divers and spoons at all different levels with many different colors, I came up empty handed after 6 hours or so. I realized that I need down riggers. Dipsies that deep is a lot of work.

I'm looking forward to next month when the lakers and salmon come shallow. If anyone wants to hop on board, shoot me a pm.

Fished Lake George in northern end in mid August. Also launched out of Rogers Rock. Used downriggers and divers. Marked fish at all levels including alot on the bottom at 125 to 140 ft. Couldn,t get any to bite though. Fished for bass the last day of three in very northern end near Ticonderoga and did ok. Might go back in late October after Salmon River trip.
