Finally got a chance to scout out a new area that I have had permission to hunt since last year but never checked out.  Did a light walk around the border of the property and a little through the interior (only 70 acres) and bumped 3 unidentifiables (too thick) and had two small bucks spook out in front of me on my way out.  One was only a small 4 or 6 and the other a 6 or 8.  Couldn't tell if either one had any brow tines.  No food on this place and very few trees to put a climber in but, some of the other guys that hunt it, mainly in rifle, have 5 or so ladder stands set up all around the place.  Found a couple good rub lines too.  They logged this place out 10 or more years ago so there is lots of pole timber but everything at ground level is too thick to walk through (rose bushes, blackberries, briars) unless you are on one of the trails the owners have cut through the place.  Not a prime area but a good area to hit for a short evening hunt after work since it is on the way home.  Getting excited though.....

Should be good conditions for sneaking into your stand in the morning. I cant wait. It's been a long offseason. Only a couple more hours now.
