wet and flowing.....  I would bet there is some dissolved material in the water, a few leaves brought down by the wind, a crawdad or two, minnows, gobies, algae, the odd stick, gravel and mud on the bottom and oh yes, a steelhead or two....  Good luck when you come to fish....

Will be there bright and early. Been keeping an eye on the radar and gauges. I'm hoping that the wind is the only real drawback to the morning. Water color is only a factor if it's too dirty for the fish 2 see my offering.

Normally I would take this with a grain of salt,,,, but I've been watching the radar and stream gauges. So I'll take his word for it.

They were in need of a major cleaning anyway. Might have 2 wait 'til Wednesday morning 2 fish. Just gonna wait 2 see what the area gets 2day and 2night.

Untrue....everyone knows Erie tribs have shale bottoms.....sheesh!

Someone did suggest earlier in the year that we glue gravel to our streambeds....I suggest we do it above the newly proposed dam.

Here's a thought... Show some respect to a fellow sportsman, drill your holes further away, rather than in his underwear and this incident would never have occurred.

It is a sad commentary on the state of our country when people feel threatened to the point they are armed when they go fishing.  I realize you have a right to carry a gun, but that is not an excuse to carry one.  As mentioned, show some respect for your fellow anglers.

    Slick,
Agreed....And most tend to not threaten people with it either. And He probably doesn't even own one, and was worried about getting the****whooping he mentioned put on himself.   hahahaha

I used to carry a gun fishing when I went way back along the streams.   We had a real problem with rabid raccoons and I carried the gun in case I ran across one while fishing.  It never crossed my mind to be worried about the fisherman I encountered while fishing.

I currently do not carry a gun while fishing.  The area I used to fish a lot is posted and I don't go down there.  Also, the number of rabid coons has dropped off so the threat is less as well.

I agree that a lot of this gun talk is just that talk.  I can tell you if you do start waving a gun around or threaten people with it or even make threats that you are carrying a gun, you may end up in more trouble than you want.  A concealed weapon is just that.  It is to be kept concealed unless you need to use it and the definition of use does not include making threats to use it.

fish I had my truck broken into and two rods and reels stolen while it was parked on the edge of the Conrail tracks near the tube on Walnut.  All total over $350 worth of gear was taken.  Honestly, if I saw someone stealing my rods I doubt I would shot them.  I certainly would yell and pitch a fit, call the police, but a fishing rod is not something worth killing someone over.  The theives that stole my gear and quite a few others that day I might add, are sneaky and don't want to confront people.  If you catch them in the act, more than likely they are going to beat feet out of the area.

As for hunting, I am well armed when hunting with either a bow, a shotgun or a rifle.  I would tend to think that most theives would not want to mess with someone who was armed and knows how to use their weapon.  I have heard of a case where a young man was held up and had his deer stolen after he had killed, cleaned and was dragging it out of the woods.  That is a rare event I would expect.
