RAIN

Now that the rain is here does someone have a pic of the stream?  Brandy run is only reading .95 on the stream gauge.  We need more.

Didn*t you check the rain total of 1.52 inches last 24 hours at the Erie airport? That in itself should tell you the streams are up and the high cold water entering the lake should bring fresh steelhead into the streams. As for Brandy Run it is so small a 5 year old child could jump across it-ROFLOL- it is very-very small feeder creek....
Fishing should be very good on Elk Tuesday....

Fishing should be really good this coming week... Wish My work partner didn't get admitted to the hospital yesterday. Now i will have to do the work of two people. I really doubt I will be able to get out this week.

I didn't take any pics, not sure why.

I looked at the creeks before leaving this morning. Walnut came up quite a bit and is muddy. The creek bed is full of flowing water, enough to move fish up. Lower elk only came up a little and is off-color but not total mud. At first I figured the mudjust hadn't reached the lower end yet, so I checked middle and upper elk, hoping to find high muddy water headed down, but not really. It might move some fish around a little, but those who like flowing water and a "nice drift" should keep rain dancing.

not much change in elk, just color changed. the lower picture with the logs in the water tells all... when we fished last year november/december the logs couldn't be seen at all and most of the rocks were completely underwater. the water is usually the whole way bank to bank

    elk before

    elk after

    another pic of after

Elk about 9-12 inches of visibility.
Still a few down pours around.
More rain on the way with lower high temps too.
I hope that this post helps. :)

In southern Erie county the sun is out now and the rain is pretty much over for the time being.  The creek in my yard when up some with the rain but is back down to where it was yesterday before the rain.  I would expect that the tribs are similar.
