First 30"+ Musky on the Fly (pics)

Got out on the Susky this morning with dietz31684 and had a banger of a day. Got a new 10' 7wt in the mail this week and I wanted to put it through it's paces before coming up to Erie. So what better than swinging for some bronze backs.

Lots of little critters out and about







The stick and Mr Clouser



First fish on the new stick... respectable 16" bronze back... put up a decent fight.





Moved up river a couple miles and a little forshadowing perhaps...



Swinging the clouser through a deep pool... the line came tight, set the hook and saw a huge roll of color as line ripped off the reel. She gave me a couple really hard runs and one huge jump, she came completely out of the water while barrel rolling.. I pointed the rod at her and she was still on after the jump. I'm still shaking... what a rush and a great start for the new stick! Measured 31"

    Congrats. That's the way to break in a new rod. Great pics. Always enjoy posts that include them. Pouring down rain here since early AM. Hope it pours up Erie way.
