Head Shot

Here is a pic of a marabou I did up. With the discussion of big head vs small head in another thread, I wanted to put up a pic of a head I think is acceptable. It would have been smaller but I popped the thread making a tight head  If it wasnt for that it would have been almost perfect. The first pic is just thread and the second is with cement. The hook I used is a Tiemco 7999 1/0.  It didnt photo well but I used a peacock body feather for a collar. It adds a nice touch. Looks better in person.

Real nice Swinger - really like the collar. I gotta stop crowding the hook eye on these. I see where you stopped the thread right where the hook eye starts it's turn up. Looks better.

I like to stay back. I would rather stay a little to far back than to get to far forward. Its a pain in the azz when you run out of room.

Funny thing is I have one in the vise that may get cut up because I stayed too far back. Fn' thing looks like an ant eater.

I use UNI 8/0 thread. Swinger, the Rumpf thread is UNI thread, branded with the Rumpf name.

I'll take your word for it but I have some unwaxed uni in 6 and 8. I like the waxed Rumpf much better.

a smal head def looks neater that i can agree on but
i still don't see where it affects the fishing of the fly
or mattering to the fish.i am talking a head a lil bigger than normal
not some huge blob on a hook face. just my .02 ff46

I didn't say these are the ten suggestions
