Homebrew Trailcam

Finally got my first homebrew camera built and working...
Here are a few pics of the build..

I used a Pelican 1040 case
Sony P32 camera- with stero jack plug hack on the camera.
A Bigfoot camera control board.
Fresnel lens.

Still need some black eva foam to fill in but it works ok for now..

Most intimidating part is hacking the camera.

Tearing apart a perfectly good camera and then taking the rotozip to it was a little unsettling..
Total build cost was $125..

Bing, did you get that Sony with the hack already in it or did you do it yourself?

I assume you did it yourself with your comments about hacking it open... Was it hard to hack it together?

Cool stuff..! Looking forward to seeing some results!

    Hacked it myself.
There is a much easier hack than the one I did.
When I ordered my stuff I thought the Stereo cable would make a nice clean looking camera..
Well when you put the plug end in the camera you have to remove a bunch of plastic for it to fit..
A simple plug on the outside of the camera and you don't have to remove any plastic at all.
You just have to open it up and insert a small ribbon cable and run 3 little wires out..

BFoutdoors.com and Hagshouse.com are 2 excellent sources for info and parts..
