Medallion Sheeting

Hello List: Does anyone use medallion sheeting in tying.
Would like to know if it is worth the $$, or is there a better substitute ?....thanks....jim

    Jim, I like to use the medallion sheeting for wing cases in nymph tying. If you  coat the sheeting with some two part epoxy it gives a real nice sheen to it. It can also be used for winging dry flies although it can tend to twist the leader as you cast. Also from what I've found is that for dry fly wings, it's not too durable. Just my opinion though

    you can use sheeting or swiss straw (raffia) for wing cases and don't forget you can go natural turkey feather or pheasant feathers tied in and pulled over.ff46
