Fishing

Since we finally got some rain I decided to fish for a few hours. I caught one fish on a Jassid. There was a solid 2 footer sipping from the surface, but I couldn't fool him. It was a nice Brown. The closest I could get was a look at an ant. I forgot to tie hoppers/crickets. I don't know if they would have worked or not. No I wasn't on asshats fish, or even close. It is a stream bred Brown... I've been after this fish for 2 seasons now. I can never quite fool him. This is the first time I've seen him rise, but there were no visible bugs on or in the water.
I talked with a fellow from Ohio that knew Vince Marinaro well. He owned a fly shop way back when. He had some great stories for me. He gave me a Crow Beetle after I told him I lean toward the older patterns. Said he hoped I could catch that big fish on it. It was a very nice gesture.
I will call the day  a sucess.
