The possibilities are endless. Any egg or sucker spawn with a bead head nymph dropper. San Juan worms with a nymph or egg dropper also work well.

you fly selection and rigging work togeather

heavy fly first and bounce the bottom?
heavy fly as a point working the vertical Cezch rake?

attactor fly first with a subtle dropper?

A double sucker spawn combo is the best tandem/dropper rig that you could fish. I would only suggest you try a large sucker spawn with a smaller one to see if they have a size preference.
After that...it's either pink, orange, or cream.

An interesting combo I've tried that works. Use a three way swivel on the end of you leader and then attach a wooly bugger to about 3' of line to one side of the swivel and a weighted nymph, or bead head to the dropper about 3'>4' down. One bounces the bottom and one rides the curent

Jack...does that cast in real life any better than its casting in my mind's eye? I see death, destruction, and, amazingly enough, explosions in my future if I try casting that.

    Nope,
In my experience they just lay parallel to each other and then in the water just untangle themselves because the swivel does just that , it swivels. Try it one time on a creek and see if you don't like it I like it so much I bought the company. Now I have hair!

It depends on where I'm fishing, but if I'm fishing a limestone creek(and nothing is hatching) then I go with the bh pheasant tail and bh scud.  If I am fishing for stocked trout its always dead drifting a bugger with a sucker spawn dropper(I know it sounds a little funny but it works).  For stealhead I do the same thing I do for stocked trout.
