Harry you sound either #1: like you've taken too much Valium (sp) or #2: you've spent too much time with the meth heads in Titusville, or #3 you're a motivational speaker for North Warren Hospital...

and I quote from a song, "You took your mom to the prom and got lucky"  Everytime I hear that song it reminds me of you...lmao... j/k man... i enjoy your widsom and knowledge

Oh by the way....Name the song and artist?

How the heck would I know what song that is?

BIGSLICK - you know that song? You know, from your "College days..." ?

Hey, everyone's drilling me about the yellow ice cream on the other thread because I put my foot in my mouth. I get to pick on you in this thread because you did here.

If you want to get your lady interested in fishing, you need to get her into some fast action.  She needs instant satisfaction at first, and then let it get harder over time and she will appreciate the persuit.  I would recommend a liesurely ride on the Edward John or a weekday fishing trip on 20 mile creek in october for steelhead.  LEt her float a minnow around and when she hooks into one of those buggers, she will be one of two things:  hooked for life or fullfilled for life.  The perch trip is a bit long,  but she can take her own food and booze if she wants and watch a killer sunset and chat with people.  That is a good way to get people into some fishing that is not gonna set their expectations too high or scare them with a monster fish.

My wife is good for about 1-2 hrs of fishing, and that is enough time to bond and for her to head home so I can get into some real action.  :)

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

Well if you do by chance decide to take  her fishing,,,,DO NOT take her to Pymatuning when it is white capping.
I had that bright idea this morning at 5am..Gotta give herr credit she didn't whine and she didn't chum.
Man was that rough down there.......

RE: Getting the wife to go fishing 2009/07/28 11:46:55 (permalink)
One Saturday morning a man gets up early, dresses quietly, gets his lunch made, puts on his long johns, grabs his dog, goes to the garage to hook up his boat to the truck and down to the driveway he goes.
Coming out of his garage the rain is pouring down: it is like a torrential downpour. There is snow and sleet mixed in with the rain. The wind is blowing at over 50mph.
Minutes later he returns to the garage. He comes back into the house. Turns the TV to the weather channel and he finds it is going to be very bad weather all day long, so he puts his boat back in the garage, quietly undresses and slips back into bed.
There he cuddles up to his wife's back, now with a different anticipation and whispers, "The weather out there is terrible". To which she sleepily replies, "Yeah, can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in it?"

A guy I know was having an affair and was using fishing as an excuse to get with the other woman. He went out one Saturday and spent the hole day with his mistress, weather was nasty and it poured all day. He goes home without thinking and is completely dry. His wife jumps him about it and he tells her that he fished under a bridge all day, she buys it. That was 12 years ago and they're still married and he's still "fishin".

Four married guys go fishing.

After an hour, the following conversation took place:

First guy: 'You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishing this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I would paint every room in the house next weekend..'

Second guy:'That is nothing, I had to promise my wife that I would build her a new deck for the pool.'

Third guy:'Man , you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I would remodel the kitchen for her.'

They continue to fish. When they realized that the fourth guy has not said a word, they asked him, â€œYou haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come fishing this weekend. What's the deal?”

Fourth guy:'I just set my alarm for 5:30 am.
When it went off,  I shut off my alarm,
Gave the wife a slap on her butt and said:

'Fishing or Sex?'
And she said:……………..  'Wear sun-block

Luckily, my wife doesn't like fishing...lol...When I take my Neice and Nephew to the fishing derby, she goes with me, only because my sister goes with the kids as well.....Every once in awhile she will come on the boat to lay out in the sun while we perch fish, but the lake has to be glass and the weather has to be just right....But, she does like to cook and eat the fish though, so I guess I can't complain there.....

My wife loves to fish and I couldnt be happier.  If the fishing gets slow....lets just say its better than a boat full of sausage.

Then again...it seems like alot of guys around here like that.

Congrats on the anniversary! Doing anything special? I'll have 21 years in on Friday, we're celebrating by going to the livestock auction at the county fair.

She didn't complain about my outdoor activities before we had kids and is complaining less now that the kids are older and can go with me more, but when they were little it was really hard for me to get any hunting or fishing done.

That's good, you need to keep some romance alive. I'm only half kidding about the auction, we're going to Vegas next week and we'll do something out there.
