It seems to be just a little behing although the guys who know the lake are doing just fine. Spend some cash on a charter and you will see what I mean!

BF, Come on NOW! Most of the charters are not limiting out every day like in past years. Anyone can look at the their reports on the reports page and they are runing way more trips than what they are posting. The last few years it was limit out and back to the dock early. Now it is double digits plus some days and work hard for double digits others. The fact is that the overall numbers of walleye in the lake are way down from past years and it is definitly tuffer.

16506, BF is a charter captain dude. He is the one charging the money....If anyone knows what the walleye's are doing, it's people like him that are out there day in and day out...As far as I hear. The charters have been coming in with limits, some of them I have heard about anyways. Those guys are on the east side, so? I talk to most of the guys here on the west side and they have been pulling good numbers...

Bigslick, Good answer!

I'm just sayin, If you think the private boats are doing good at 1-5 fish a day, your wrong! Hop on a good charter with a good captain and you will see what I'm talking about. I'm not getting into a ****ing match here, I'm just sayin!

I can guarantee a few of the boats at my dock are cosistently bringing limits for 4-6 guys in and at a minumum 15 fish per trip. I can say for a FACT that one captain has whacked 4 man limits a few times within 4 hrs. in the last 2 weeks.

The weather is the reason the fish are not eating, they are there and in good numbers just have a case of lockjaw. If you want to see for yourself take a ride to the commercial docks at state street around 2:30 or 3:00 pm friday, saturday and sunday and see for yourself! It is fishing and not catching so theres always a chance of not doing great but I'm pretty sure we will have a good weekend.

$650.00- What you get for that. 8-9 hrs. dock to dock, all rods, tackle and bait. Yes the boats are on the east side so therefore it's costing over $200.00 per day in fuel, pay the mate, pay the insurance, pay the dock fee, pay for bait, upkeep on boat, cash for 12 hrs. of my time less than $200.00! Ya that seems ridicolous if you ask me! I'm just sayin'!

Well, I haven't get skunked at all this year. I have been pulling 3 man limits for the last 2 weekends. For people to say that it is gonna be non-existant this year is just not true! Get out there and find them rather than fishing online for info. In my experience this year, they are in small concentrations and not the typical troll from here to there for a limit. I start picking up fish and I start making runs over my GPS mark boating 2 or 3 each pass and occasionly on the turn. They are particular about the speed and presentation right now as well as the colors. Find the speed, depth and color and your in! And just an FYI, Dipsy's are not the answer!

Well I guess it comes down to what each person considers "good" and "consistant". Limiting out once a week out of seven days or however many trips guys are running is not consistant. When I worked at Poor Richards guys would come in sayng that they absolutly slammed the steelhead and I would be like oh man I wish that I didnt have to work and could be out there catching them too! Then I would ask how many they caught and they would say numbers that were allot lower than what I consider slammin them. It is all realitave to what you are used to. Either way it should be more about getting the chance to go out and not how many or how fast you get them. Personally I think that Walleye fishing is slower this year than the past 8 years but that is only my opinion.

Fish do seem alot bigger this year though...Ill take 20+ fish a trip every trip...even if I am out there 8hrs...Not saying the best is yet to come, but certainly you can be consistant running same areas, similar baits, repeating depths and circling...Last year it was alot easier...so what...There can be an off year...

There is some reward for doing well when the conditions and fish are not cooperating....Theres also alot of fun involved when they are...Its just odd to hear of guys doing so well this time of year in 35fow and I take 30hits out 10miles in 70+fow off the bottom...Doesnt seem normal to me...

Im still waiting on that week of brutal hot weather and a glass lake...it has yet to come...Its just been an off year for weather and fish...It can only keep getting better....

When I fish I ask myself a few questions 1. did we have a good time 2.did anybody get hurt 3.did the boat run good 4. did we catch any fish. If all questions are positive then it was a good trip. I'm not as competive as I use to be,maybe it comes with age,I don't have to limit out every trip and will not ride for hours beating a dead horse for a few more eyes just so I can toot toot my horn and say we limited out. Fishing is suppose to be relaxing and fun some of you guys take it way to seriously you need to take a step back and chill out alittle.

Yes indeed.

BTW...I saw a lot of full coolers at Walnut today.  The best action was still shallow, although I saw some guys doing well on the first trench.
