Ya, it's slow, I've only been able to get out a few times, dang woman keeps filling up the weekends. As for the fish, we are only now into the weather we usually have in June. It should be heating up now.

Erie times has a "fish on" report every Fri.
It said the walleye fishing now is probably the best its going to get this year. I hope it's not true.
I actually was catching more walleye at the beginning of June then now. we were mainly targeting smallmouth but would pick up a few each trip.
I dont know, guess I got spoiled the last 3 years. This season reminds me of the late 90's when you trolled all day for 5-6 fish.

Congratulations, you're getting back to what the fishing will be in years to come.  We've had 3 years of great fishing, all due to that one year-class.  We've all gotten spoiled being able to go get a limit in a few hours.  Unlike back in the 90's when 4 fish a day was doing good.  From what I've heard the succesive year-classes have been meddiocre at best.  I guess once we get through all these fish we've been catching the last few years all these "new" guys are going to see what the walleye fishing was just a few years ago.  How soon we all forget.

I have found it to be slower this year as well.

The walleye fishing on Lake Erie is still better than anywhere in the entire state.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

I would say it's slower than last year for sure, I have been out days where we have done really well, next day go back to the same spot and they are gone. Also, I haven't caught the "BIG" fish that I did last year either, I think the biggest we have taken is 8lbs. Not complaining cause the big ones are fishy anyways!

Yeah its slower than last year out of Erie PA, yes.  However, have you guys been reading reports from Fairport Harbor, Cleveland or anywhere west of Geneva?  Have you kept up with reports from the spring bite in the western basin?  Just because the big schools walleye have not migrated as far as Walnut this year, does not mean that there are less fish or that its an off year for Lake Erie as a whole.  I have cantacts and friends from Cleveland, Lorain, Vermillion and Port Clinton.  Tell them that this year is a bad walleye year and they'd laugh at you.  I believe, year to year, our walleye bite is 99% dictated by the spring conditions, weather and water temps.  Thats why the further west you go to talk to charters and walleye fishermen, the less you see them complaining about the lack of fish and success.  The fish are there....you may just have to travel some to get them.  And remember, its NOT all about Walnut and PA walleyes

your exactly right about being slow here in erie,pa right now.ive been out the last two days and trolled about 8 hours total and caught 1 small eye.im very patient and will go back to perching until things heat up or i get sum good info on where the fish are.also you have to remember that we area about 2-3 weeks behind due to cold water temps this year.has anyone checked the bottom/mid line temps lately? i sure know where they arent after the last few days on the water..lol

I thought the earth was melting and the sky was falling.. but you guys say it's a cold spring?

I'n not sure who I should believe? you people,  or some lib democrat from San Francisco... hmmmm......
