Pike don't eat flies.

They eat secret stuff and other secret stuff.

Shhh. Don't tell KJH that. I don't want him catching my pike.

found some sweet pike flies that i had over at my parents.  couple have treble stinger hooks.  5 to 1 odds that one of them ends up as an earing next week...

"Good Luck"

kjh,

If you can cast a 1/2 oz chartreuse tandem blade spinnerbait on your flyrod, I'd try that.

nice.

Why the trailer on a pike fly?  Seems kind of extra dangerous.

Is that just how you roll?

How did you tie in the stinger? Mono to the shank? What knot?

What about a tiny piece of foam above the stinger hook to keep it from sagging backwards under the weight of the wire and stinger hook?

it is 26lb 19strand wire, threaded through hollowed mylar cord (samthing people use for zonkers)
it is doubled and loop to loop through the sintger (2/0) eye

dang that's a big fly.  post a pic next to those other treble stinger ones i have for size comparison.

that pattern looks perfect though! perch, small bass, big dace or sucker.  is there a dumbell head on that as well?

they have a bit of movement but not too much... thinking it will make a nice lateral line and keep the whole thing together

its just going to be interesting with 2 guys in the same boat throwing them

those are awesome.  do any of them stay totally afloat?   i was getting my best hits on that white and red one when i'd strip it hard, it would dip about 2 feet under the surface, when it'd drift back toward the furface is when they'd smack it.  with the steel leader i was using it was impossible to work the gurglers you gave me effectivly.

"Good Luck"
