Collins Lake

8/4 Fished Collins today - started at 5:30am and had no other boats till 8:30am caught 1 small 10in largemouth and 3 others between 3.5 and 4lbs - Finished the day around 11:30am and headed in and thats when I noticed a large dead fish floating by - well to make a long story short it turned out to be a 16in Gizzard Shad....

    Ballston Lake had a huge gizzard shad die off earlier this year. I forget the reason of it. I've recently fished Ballston and Round Lakes. Didn't fare too well at Round. Did fairly well at Ballston.

    I read somewhere that there are some Browns in Ballston. Is there any validity to that? I'd love to dump a ton of 'Eyes in there.

    yup .....there are some "Browns" in there ... Brown Bullhead and on the dec site there are suppost to be Walleyes in there too ... I'm thinkin about fishing it this commin weekend .....
