I think they made the carp and catfish forums because they aren't thought of by game fish by most people and are generally forgotten about, but the guys who do fish for them are usually hardcore, so they gave them their own forum.
If you ask me, there should be 4 forums.
1. Fishing in general.
2. fishing gear for sale
3. off topic
4. hunting
