Smallies Galore

With all that rain we got i skipped out on the Stripers, went to my favorite Smallmouth pond and layed the smackdown on 45+ Smallies with my buddy Lance.  We lost count after 41 , add in the 10 or so fat little rockies and we had a banner morning. We fished from 5am-11am.

Nothing real big but they put on a show for us today ... here are a few of the better ones ...

We caught them on tubes, small plastic swimbaits, senkos, zara spook.

After Striper season (banging out 15-25lb fish) ... i'm like ho-hum, lets go catch some lame 2-3lb fish, whatever.
But man once i hooked into that 1st Smallie i was very satisfied LOL !!! Guess it really dosen't matter what's on the line (but i love Stripers) !!

Awesome day Brian!. Glad you got out. I decided to skip fishing today and start building my daughters playground.

When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

I have caught a lot of smallies on the Housatonic river from the dam up above kent and cornwall all the way down to lake lillanoah and 90% of them on a schartruese (yellow) spinner bait w/ silver willow leafe blades do tyou ever use that and how does it work for you on smallies?
