take a kid fishing!

hey guys im only 15 years old but i've been taking my 3 year old cousin fishing and its created a lifetime passion for him..this time of year is the perfect time to do it with the fish being so active and biting..I took him to Rum Runners and walnut and walnut was more successful but over all i got him about 25 bass and some big suckers! the mancester hole still has a good amount of steelies and tons and i mean tons of smallies..so take a kid fishing! til next time tight lines!!!

spot burning would be openly telling everyone a good spot that you found, that is not fished heavy, say you found a hole on elk creek filled with giant steelies and say 2 people new, posting on this board so everyone would know would be spot burning, it would be fished out within a week.

well that is what spot burning is, and ya what you said wasn't really spot burning because its a very well known spot and is fished alot

Kast, ignore everyone who says anything negative on here.

Nice fish, and nice job taking your cousin fishing. Keep it going! Take em out on some Bluegills and he'll have a blast.
Hell, I still have a blast catching those little maniacs!

    Kastmaster,

Under the forum policies it states:

***Mentioning specific fishing locations on PRIVATE PROPERTY which may cause increases in angler traffic ( a/k/a spot burning ) is prohibited.

To my knowledge not all the streams, waterways, and Lake Erie itself are PRIVATE PROPERTY.  So not everything mentioned would be "Spot Burning".

I'm glad to see you fish as much as you can I use to be the same way but the family comes first right now. Enjoy every moment you can cause they go by so fast.

Never ment any of my post to be ( negative ) Thats not my style, I've seen many people on this board go crazy when someone mentions a spot. Not that i have to explane myself to anyone on here but i feel that people are getting the wrong idea of my orignal post, all i was doing was letting him know that some people dont really care for it one here, I use to let spots out and it was on elk, a well known creek, I got crap for it so i was just giving the kid a heads up to save him the b/s i went through on here, again sorry kast no harm intended just looking out for you.

terry, i think you may have taken tank wrong.  he has always been an upbeat, kind of postive person here.  just a misunderstanding, eh?  actually he may help the young man with his comments.   just saying.

    who cares

just about everyone here, to some degree.  as for spot burning, it is the owner's policy, not ours.  they provide a place for us to share ideas, controversial or not and exchange info.  they ask we adhere to the rules.  if someone (all of us have) crosses that line, we are told about it.  this site is unique, full of a lot of anglers sharing ideas and info.  if you are here as a member, you have to care.

i think the two discussions (bass on the beds and out of season kills) were good topics.  we may or may not agree, but it presents another side.  this is healthy, to say the least.

kast, you stay here on this board.  there is so much to learn.  a lot of us silver skulls had no internet when we were young and learning.  you will be way ahead of the game, just reading and asking questions.  your ideas are also important, as important as mine or any one else's here.

if you stay, you have to care.  we have a really good thing here.
