Instead of spoons or crankbaits, try pearl sassy shads, small white rooster tail, or a silver panther martin. When you get into a big school or even a small one, you'll be catching them left and right. The past 2 years on the ohio the white bass have been averaging 13" and some even a few inches bigger and no they are not small hybrids. I know how to tell them apart. I like to use a 9-10' light power rod with 4-6lb line for them....makes them feel even bigger. Their aggresiveness and fight for there size, make them in my opinion, a lot of fun on that setup.
Its not unusual to catch 10 or even up to 100 before they move on and you have to find them again.
