A credit to the sport

While fishing below the Pymy dam, I witnessed an act of true sportsmanship that needs to be examples to us all. A guy was fishing about 15 yards downstream from where I was fishing, a young boy placed himself between myself and this other fisherman. He wasnt't having any luck , when, the other fisherman started explaining what he was doing wrong. The kids father was watching from the road and chatted with nthe fisherman also.
The guy took the time to explain how deep to fish, to watch for light bites and what the current was doing with his bait. While we only caught a couple perch each, it was an enjoyable day to see such true sportsmanship. I know right now mostly the outright lunacy at the spillway takes center stage, but I thought others might enjoy hearing some good news.

Nice! Wish we could find more sportsmanship on some of these forums.

I'd like to pass on another sportman like act. Also. at Pymy.  One morning while waiting for my fishing partners to show up, I stuck up a conversation with a gentalman getting ready to go ice fishing. I told him this was my first year and I was learning alot. He goes to his tackle box , gets out a jig and gives it to me. Insisting i keep it. He had good luck with it the last few weeks, He said he could alway get more. He explained how to jig with it and what size hook to use. Sure left a great impression on this new angler.

You mean that's better than the "sportsman" on here that say "Why don't you figure it out by fishing more"?  Glad to here it.
