Annual FishUSA Perch Outing

The last couple of years, in mid June,  a bunch of us from this board have gotten together and gone perch fishing on the Edward John.  I thought we might have better success this year if we got together in the first part of August.  Though we should all vote on a date, I'm thinking about the morning session of Sunday, August 5.

The Edward John helps support this discussion board by advertising.  I'm not sure if the Victory does. (I might be wrong, if so please correct me!)  Because of this we should probably go out on the Edward John.  This trip is open to anybody that reads these boards.  It's a great way to put a face to a screen name and meet new friends.

Any other opinions on which boat or other ideas

I'll keep a running list of those who commit to go and make reservations for a spot on the boat.

changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes....nothing remains quite the same

Thanks Skip.  Wifey has scout camp that weekend, so I'd have to pass if it can't change.  By all means, don't change the perfect date for most just to fit my butt in there.  If I can't make it, I can't make it.  There will be other outings.  Besides, I've still got this guy and a few of his cousins in the freezer and on the brain.

I think I'll go mad if I can't get another chance to get out and pull some more in.  But, then again, trolling the Big Pond is soooo easy.

I just talked to Captain John (EJ's captain).  He told me Sunday, August 5 is alraedy booked full.
The reason I'm shooting for a Sunday morning is because that is my only day of the week off.
How about Sunday, August 12th?.....any opinions?

I'd like to go but the 12th is just about the only Sunday that would be difficult. Don't schedule it around me though. If I can go I will. Sounds like fun.

This is the PURIST Police. You are being cited for not properly handling and releasing your catch. Remove the fish from the freezer, revive them and release them immediately.

One day I'll get up to the big pond for 'eyes. Right now I'm limited to the top two walleye fisheries in the country in Pymatuning Reservoir and Shenango River Lake .

Anyway, I might be interested in the outing, not sure yet though. I won't know until a week or so before. I'm always off on Sundays but with a wife and two kids you never know what may come about.

Gol' dangit!  It's the first anniversary.  Think the wife is peesed at me for forgetting the 1st one?  Yup!  No problem, depending on when we'll be back ashore.  Early p.m. or late a.m., right?
