what's your choice

To go for panfish of all types, what's your top pick of tipping whatever you're jigging? Spikes, mousies, waxies, meal worms, perch eyes, live minnows, what's your go to bait?

I fish mainly for pike but if I were going for pans I'd use Emerald Shiners (aka - Icicles) or small minnows. It would more then likely mean fewer fish but would also mean bigger fish. Using Spikes, Waxies or Moussies you might have the dinks beating the bigger fish to your bait; bigger bait = bigger fish.

Blitz, I'll give you an example what happened this past weekend. My fishing buddy uses a 32d oz kastmaster without grub tipping (he refuses them when I offer him grubs) I tell him  he is nuts but he actually proved it doesn't make much difference. Although I prefer at least one mousie on the same lure, he has proven me it is mostly presentation for the most part, this happened several times many seasons fishing with this guy. I however prefer mousies over anything else to answer your question but if I were without anything jigging, first perch I take I use an eye. perch eyes are just as good imo as any grub. Anyway saturday we both used 1/32 chrome kastmasters ,he caught 15 to my 4 and he wasn't tipping..I was tipping my treble with one mousie.. on sunday we fished same spot only I caught 14 to his 3 perch.. all perch in about 30ft water. ok, hears a good tip after a good day, Using a slim design blade electric knife and a cutting board, I make filleting quick  and easy. glta be safe.
