It is simply a green weenie of a different color. I believe (might be wrong) Charlie Meck change the color scheme of the real green weenie. Just use a red shade of chenille in place of the green. I'd suggest using a slightly oversized brass bead. That seems to work well. I tied some up two years ago in a peachy/salmonish color and they were the only thing the Mushies would grab a couple times out.

A 9672 works fine. I've seen them tied on 79850s.

In tungsten beads...the 1/8 incher is great, but the 5/32 is better in brass. I give it about 12 wraps of lead free wire to shove into the bead for additional weight.

I know, this is actually a jig! It works well and, aside from the tungsten, a quick and cheap tie for a fish catcher.

the 9672 is a straighter shank that fly looks to be tied on a scud or egg style hook
i myself would use a mustad signature series c67 or c49 just my two cents

I didn't say these are the ten suggestions

Pink is another hot color for them also. Popular in PA.

Tied up a few w/ micro bling yarn  and brushed it out. gives that buggy look. weighing them down does seem superior.

That Micro Bling Yarn is sweet....never thought of using it for weenies.....

    3way,

Since you seem to be interested in these colors, have you ever tied a hot spot pattern?  basically a HE or PT with red/orange/pink behind head.  I thought it was pretty out there until my friend took me to school using one during a tough day on a central PA limestoner.  I was in the mind set that you had to have "the exact" pattern fish were feeding on, but this little guy took the cake.  Sorry I don't have any pictures, but google will put you on the right track.
