Here's the report from my father-in-law who lives near that area.

No muskies at the outflow. Pike are hitting where it runs into the Allegheny in the weeds just before sunset.

He doesn't fish it in the morning so I've no other report. In my limited succes at chasing muskies there I've always done my best at this time of the year a few days after a very heavy rain.

I'm heading up there from Virginia the week of 4th of July. I'll be fishing that stretch every morning and night for five days.

Woot! Hope something's hittin'. Sick of catching nothing but largemouth here in VA.

I am not to fond of catching largemouth so I would be sick of it very fast.  What is the biggest musky you have caught in tionesta?

There are usually a few muskies laying around at the Woodcock outflow.  They tend to be there in bigger numbers in early spring, coming up from French Creek.  They pack in there to feed on spawning perch and stocked trout.  Watched a guy catch 5 there one first day of Trout season a few years ago (Of course he released them all) one was pushing high 40 inch range.

Not very big Andy. Unfortunately I'm yet to catch that picture muskie. Anything I've got is lucky to border the 36" range. However, I've had people with me hit some larger fish and the last time I was up there a guy walking by me showed me a digital pic of a real monster he'd caught just before I showed up.

I've always done better banging the walleye during the evening in a pool rather close to the Allegheny. I use extremely light tackle when I'm doing that and that makes for quite a bit of fun considering you can also bang the occasional pike and more common a nice smallie. It's one of the few places I feel comfortable using light line during the heat of Summer considering you can land them so fast and send them on their way.

I caught some sweet Cudas during my last trip to Nassau that I could Photoshop into looking like a muskie. Meh, I may have to do that if I don't catch a picture fish soon. I'm not getting any younger.

I havent fished in a few days at the outflow but when i did there was a nice tiger in the corner off the wall, sidewalk side, that chased a rap i was running for smallies. I would estimate about a 3 footer which is nice for a tiger here. Havent had to much success as of late but i havent had time much lately either to hit them hard. There is a very nice one lurking around the tree down on the island on the creek side. Do you know where that is? Just above the old wooden bridge. I have heard about it but havent raised it yet. There's always some skies there though. Alot of times we catch them right off the left side of the boat ramp too. Also try just below the old wooden bridge on the flat. Good spot there too. I live right in town so i'm usually around often. Tight Lines Everyone !!!

Muskys have to be 40 inches this year.  Harder for the fishing tournament.

nope it was actually the first time i have ever been there. camped at kellettville, beautiful country up there. the spillway wasnt that hot for fishing when we were there. tons of families and kids. i did manage to pull a real nice smallie out from the wall at the outflow on a big ol white spinnerbait (which was what i got the 2 muskie on) but not much else except a dink largemouth. did catch a bunch of smallies in the creek above the lake. my buddy got a smallie in the 20 inch range easily pushing 4lbs.

This year has been very good for muskys.  I already caught 4 muskys and 2 notherns in 6 days of fishing up there.  I also lost a few so it has been pretty hot.

The outflow is really low.  Does anyone know if they shut it down and are inspecting it?

when we got there the gauge read 11 feet and it was fishable but still obviously low from all the rocks covered in mud. a day later we went and the gauge was at 9 1/2 and it was difficult to fish with large rocks protruding out. talked to a guy fly fishing and he said he was fishing when all of a sudden the water dropped about 2 feet in 30 seconds, a minute later it crept back up a half a foot and was where it stayed.

i just think the lake is rediculously low. there was a lot of exposed bank.

Right now on the wall it is just under 9. So I dont know whats up.  They usually inspect the tunnel every year around the month of June so I was wandering if that is what is going on.

I do not think they are doing anything with the tunnel.  the water is just low.  look at all the streams real low flow.  I spent the weekend up there walking around in the woods.  Little to no run off from all the little spings and stuff.

Just got back from a week up north, fished the outflow twice, very low few smallmouth. Fished the river the rest of the time, few smallmouth but not like in late May early June. Fishing partner managed 2 muskies out of th river on the home made " Jmmy lures" biggest wasmay be 25", grat weather week, only rain was yesterday late afternoon.
Boat sunk under the Tionesta bridge, looks to be like 16-17', I'll bet the motor is still on sunk from the back bow pointing down river, registration numbers off, anyone lose a boat?
It's on the town side about 15' from shore, not sure how long it's been there but I fish under the bridge quite often and it is the first I sawit, maybe the high water had it covered??

Fished the Tionesta on Thursday, July 5th. Took a look at the outflow and there were too many people there so I left. As JSHA stated the water was very low. I waded from behind the swim area to the lighthouse. I caugh a few smallmouth with most of my success in the ripples under the bridge by the lighthouse.

I fished tionesta 4 out of the 7 days I was up there.  Between my father, uncle, and myself we got 6 muskys 24, 30 1/2, 31, 31, 32, and 32 1/2.  I caught few smallmouth, but there were all nice size biggest being 18 1/2.  Musky fishing was good but bass fishing wasnt that great.  I fished kinzua dam to the bridge in warren also.  We caught at least 40 trout all about 8 inches on white rooster tails.  Closer to the dam I caught a 23 inch brown trout.

I love tionesta fishin'!  Everytime I'm up here I catch something nice. Recently we fished the outflow and the river and caught some pike, and smallmouth.  I have caught a couple muskys out of the outflow area but nothing over 36".  I also have had them follow spinner baits and bucktails in the lake, but never hit.  The outflow, they say, has the most musky and if you use bluegails and perch for bait you can catch them... I dunno, I always hit mine on something you'd never expect them to eat. ...like a wolly bugger for example.

I seen that boat you were talking about JSHAFish.  For that little hole there it is going to make good cover for the fish.

Just got back, not to good 2 smalmouth and that was it!
Went to the outflow Saturday, made about 10 casts, turned around to quick gone, slipped fell in deep hole right past the rocks showing on the primitive side went under, 2 nice gashes on my leg, thsoe rocks are tough. Of course held my rod and my green sack, dried all the lures out was back today.I'm sure their were quite a few laughs!
Been going there for 35 years, first time went all the way in, good thing it was deep spot.
Their letting more water out almost 11 at the wall, been the highest in about a month.

Fished for musky's for the first time at the tionesta outflow 13 years ago (freshman year at clarion).  I was surprised at less than 20 cast with a large yellow bomber long A I hooked and landed a 43" musky at twilight.  It launched 5 feet off the water and for at least 15 feet.  It was incredible and what a fight.  I have only been there one other time since unfortunatley.
