1st ice fish trip of the season

Found some good ice today and gave it a try  ... managed to jig up some fish w/ a few friends.
 
The crappies are 10-10.5" ... just to give you an idea how big that monster perch is !!!

    Excellent catch Brian! man I love the smell of perch and crappie in the morning! Serious meal there ! I would fillet them right in a market shopping paper bag.. I cut the paper bag and put a small steel salad bowl next to it..fillets in the bowl and the blood and guts stay on the paperbag.. works nice for an inside cleaning station. I like using a thin blade electric fish knife.. got one of those rapala cordless ones.

    It is too dang warm I partied food /wine last night again with family.. tomorrow even warmer! Doubt if I am going to go looking at that forecast. If it were march late ice, i'd have no problem with 50 degree days ,but not early ice.  Be careful and use common sense.GLTA

    Very Nice Perch Brain!!!!! She looks to be about16"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How much ice???
