todays fishin' report
got lucky and found some dumb ones this morning. pink yarn and beaded pheasant tails were the hot hand Most landed were of average size, and one fresh male that might of tipped the scales at close to 8 pound. only one landed was of real noteworthiness though. It was all silver and black/grey color, and all I had to do was reach down and grab out of the crick IT WAS MY CANON CAMERA!!! (no, it's not water proof) GRRRRRRRRR ..L.T.A.

I dropped my last Canon in the water 3 times before it finally stopped working right. In case you dont know and its digital, get the batteries out, open any compartments you can(battery compartment, scan disc comp, ect.) and put it on your computer vents for a couple days. Mine was a powershot. Extremely tough for what it is and worth the money. Good luck, I've grown to really like mine.

genie, Always attach your camera to a laynard some how, and keep it securely fastened to your vest or neck. (do not do as one friend did and wrap the laynard around the camera and then put the camera in an open pocket.). If your camera doesn't have a laynard ring use the little hand strap and if that isn't there; glue a ring from a key ring to it. It may be a little ugly but it won't get wet.

I put my camera on a zinger that is weighted for a net that way you can still have the abilty to pass it to a buddy to take a shot but it remains attached to your vest. If it drops the zinger will retract and give you the time needed to save it from the water.
...just watch for the twitch and then bring on the thunder!

A waterproof is definately in my own future. A friend has one, and besides not having to worry about drops, the underwater pictures are among the neatest I've seen.

Thanks for tips, Gents Blueh, mine is a Powershot too I agree it's an excellent digi cam. I've had it for years and it gets abused like all my gear. it's drying as we speak, hopefully it will be good to go when I toss some fresh batteries in in another day or so. If it's bit the bullet, I'll probably replace it with another Powershot Thanks for link Skyler, I've been considering a waterproof digi for years. Probably would already have one if the big box stores had them on the shelf. It's not that I don't buy things on-line, it's just that I'm more of impulse buyer. When buying on-line I think about "need" and money more where if I walk into a Wal-mart or Sam's I may plunk down the dough cause I can walk out with it then I know it doesn't make $ense, it's just the way i am ..L.T.A.

G-man, Since you have an old Canon, you probably qualify for a trade in where you send them your old broken camera for a refurbished newer model. The refurbished ones come with a 6 month warranty. Sometimes they have unbelievable buys, especially when they are closing out old models (like now) Canon Customer Loyalty Program. Call Canon: 866-443-8002.

While stationed in Hawaii in 1993 or so.........I did purchase a Canon Sure Shot A1 with panorama--waterproof--FILM CAMERA........that camera has been used and abused and still takes great photos.......I have not replaced the gaskets and last time it was used.......it was still waterproof.....up to 15 feet down....it has an underwater mode for fish pictures.........AWESOME CAMERA..........I think I saw some on ebay--brand new--for half of what I paid.........I think I dished out 130 or so back in the day for the camera last year I bought an Olympus Stylus 790 SW digital--chartreusey green color!!!........takes great photos......waterproof to 10 feet (?) and shock proof from 5 feet to the floor.......it has taken many family photos.........a few fish photos....but nothing underwater yet........7.1 Megapixels........if you have big fingers.....it might be hard to use....the buttons are tiny...........but a great camera nonetheless...it has all kinds of picture modes.......a macro mode.......(which I have not mastered yet?) tiny camera and fits in a shirt pocket........i have dropped it numerous times already......and so have the kids..........it has a nick here and a nick there........no worse for the wear !!! I think I shelled out 250 bucks for the camera

2B... I have the same camera. I love it... and as long as there is a good amount of light it takes great underwater pictures.

Eckerd Drug stores(I do not think this conflicts with FISHUSA?) carries a disposable digital camera with a view screen. You can see and delete unwanted pics, but it only stores 27 before you have to turn it in. But you can't download from it, but its nice for the creeks.
