next weekend

Will be making the 5 hour drive and arriving on Elk on Monday morning. I've been watching the weather, but how are the creeks looking now? I was hoping Erie would have got hammered with rain this week to get some fresh fish in the creeks. All I see is rain/ snow showers in the forecast for Wednesday. If anyone has any insight to what the creeks might be like on Monday and Tuesday, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

5 hour drive...thats about the same as my drive.  Where are you coming from?

Even the weather forecasters don't have much "insight" of the weather in the Erie area.  I remember one morning in Erie I was listening to the weather report on the radio and the forcast was...

"A couple inches to a couple feet of snow."

Over the past years I have come to the conclusion to just go and hope for the best.  For example, last weekend they called for lots of rain.  It did rain thru out the night and I anticipated that the stream would be blown out.  Well, when I got on the water by sun up the water was as low and clear as ever and only raised a little bit by that afternoon.

Wrinkle- can't promise weather or water conditions for next week, but in looking at this thread http://forums.fishusa.com/upper_walnut/m_126960/tm.htm I can promise you that there will be fish in almost all sections of the tribs.
    Go get 'em.

They will look great on all those days cuz' I will be fishing them on all those days.  In reality though, they will be low and clear.......or high and muddy.......or perfect.

Coming from Harrisburg. Try to make at least 2 trips in the fall season. Trout fishing just isn't the same after I started going up there last year. Thanks for the insight and good luck to all

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.
