Why don't you read the regulations book you get with your fishing license instead of relying on heresay?

Or make your way to www.fish.state.pa.us and try clicking on fishing regulations.

Or head on over to this helpful link: http://www.fishusa.com/FishErie/Regulations.asp

Check it out and let us all know the answer please.

420, I see you have only been registered for less than a month. Don't let the last answer keep you from asking questions in the future. I can't answer your question. I have never paid attention because I don't fish at night. There are alot of guy's on here that will help you without sarcasm. the site has gone down hill alot the last couple of years.

How does asking someone to actually read the fishing regulations constitute going down hill?

For the record, all tribs are closed from 10 PM to 5 AM, with the exception of Elk Creek north of Rt. 5 and Walnut Creek north of the bridge on Manchester Road.  Can't fish the lake at Trout Run within 50 yards of the mouth during those times.

Sorry to be a smart ****, but if you're going to go to the trouble of fishing in an area, at least take the small effort needed to actually read and familiarize yourself with the regulations of the area you're going to fish.

Totally different from asking about tips or techniques.

no dubt it's a shame people don't take the time to read the regulations before hunting or fishing. i can understand if a person doesn't understand what is written but to not make an effort to read. well?
last weekend a guy asked me how many steelhead he can keep. he thought it was 2? why's he fishing and plan on keeping fish if he doesn't know how many he can keep?

some people only fish two or three times a year but visit this site once a week or so.  By now they have lost their booklet and can't find the online booklet so they ask here only to be smacked in the head with a book, kinda like when the Nuns smacked my friend in the face with a book for talking to me in third grade.  I saw her coming so I quit moving my lips and Sister Ignatius was creepin up behind us and I just couldn't figure out how to tell Timmy to shut the hell up.  Bam. The crazy Nun smacked ol Timmy right in the face with the book.  His nose started gushing and everyone knew Timmy was a bleeder after that.  If memory serves me right, Timmy was askin me how many fish he was allowed to keep when we was to go fishin together the Saturday coming up.  I knew right then and there to NEVER to ask that question, to anyone, for the rest of my life.

What the hell am I talkin about, is this how a stroke starts?

Not to be **** myself but i have recently just found this site. And for the future instead of thinking someone is a newbe and being a **** maybe you should find out some background. Ive never fished erie at night but i have fished erie for the past 10 years and i know what the regulations are and were to find them. so instead of being a **** next time just keep your comments to yourself.    Thank you and have  great days in erie and may the fish wardens be **** to you as you have to me!

Don't worry about the comments...some poeple are still upset after reading about unethical anglers chumming our precious PA streams!

The above post regarding night fishing is correct. Try it at night, it's a lot of fun!
Danjae writes a little about it here...

Of the three I've caught so far, I got one at night off the south end of the wall.  It was a blast!  We used glow-in-the-dark jigs, and I tipped mine with a waxie, under a bobber with a little chem-glow stick so you can see it better.

I'll definitely be trying it again soon!

    powerrun,

where did you buy those glow-in-the-dark jigs from or did you tie them yourself? I been trying to find some like that with no luck. I know that Poor Richards has some but only a few in all white tails.

make your own, it is more rewarding to catch them on jigs you make for yourself
