The key is to have enough rope. The danforth style anchor is what you predominatly see on the lake. I bought a "Digger" anchor because you can release the flukes "supposedly" by jerking on the line which make the anchor easier to pull. The problem is that with 200' of rope out there is too much stretch to get the "jerk" to release the flukes. So, I would get a decent sized danforth style anchor and at least 250 - 300' of rope, or rode as the case may be. Keep in mind that the weight of the anchor is not as important as the surface area.
