SR report 9-7

Hit the river again today, and it hit us back. Five of us explored the village area all day. I went 2 for 2 both silver king hens. Wife went 1 for 3 also a hen. Everybody else donated tackle to the river gods. Very little fish movement, what there was of it happened in the morning.

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

It sounds great but I have been going with my father for about ten years. I have never cought a single salmon sitting in a boat with an egg sack. We usually go near the willow hole or the refrigerator hole near the launch. My father has had luck on the trough just out from the boat launch. Can you give me any pointers?

Soon as I hear there is a good pod of fish coming in, I'll be there the next day. Cotsy.... those areas are ok but timing is everything. My experience with this area is that by the time the salmon reach here they are scared s**tless of things like eggsacks. Try lower in the river(around Pulaski), use line weight around 12-15#, smaller hooks 2-8 and fish the deeper slots/funnels. Slow moving holes usually have spooked up salmon because of the big lead/hooks ripping past them. Good luck.    By the way it looks like as I type this the estuary up rt3 is loaded!!!!!
