Try black jigs, or Trout Magnets. Experiment with depth, between 3-8 feet. I'd START shallow.

you can buy lights to float out on the water and the trout in a lake will attract to it like a magnet and you'll pound the hell out of them.  its easier when done off a boat, but you should be able to do it off a bank if the water is fairly deep close to the shore and you can float them out far enough.  i heard of some guys hanging lights off a pole and aiming the light at the water.   waxworms is all you'll need.

I've night fished several different lakes for trout.  I've done the lantern from a pole and waxworms thing. In one lake it worked great.  The other lakes bobbers with glow stick and jigs, any color but black, white, glow seem about as good as it gets.    I can't figure it out, but there is one spot,  the no light, total darkness thing is absolutely unreal at times.  The other areas, I get a few hear and there.   I really can't figure out why one method works better than the other in different lakes and different spots in the lake.  There have always been lots of surface feeding fish in all the spots, but for some reason they aren't biting the same. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen those stupid trout do.

I do ok at night on the streams, using a latern and drifting jigs under a float. But in the lakes its been hit or miss at night, I like to get there about an hour before sunrise. When the sun just starts to peak outm it usally gets good.

Just fished keystone lake last night from a boat, lanterns off of the side.  Used a combo of mealworms, waxworms and powerbait.  Between two of us, we got between 45-50 trout in about 2 hours 45 minutes.
