I have an idea for homemade scent

Am I nuts for thinking this might work?

Melt either - Vasolene or Unscented Chapstick
Add - Kosher Salt and Anise Oil
Mix well and let solidify again.

You could get real crafty and pour it back into the chapstick applicator if you used that as the base and have a dispenser. That worries me that my gf may see that and put it on her lips. Better not add any fish oils.

Yep...and you pour it in to used snuff cans to solidify and for easy application.  Garlic powder and flowered salt works well.

Tried it for the first time last night on crappie jigs. Tried without then added it. It made an EXTREAME difference in catch rate and brought crappies, a rockbass and multiple gills to the boat. I will be making more of this!

Try cuttin' up some sponge into sm. chunks & soak 'em while the petroleum jelly is still in a liquid form.
    Works great for steel.

We used to cut 1" squares out of different colored kitchen sponges & dip them in anise before dipping them into the melted vaseline for steel.  For cats we used cod liver oil instead of anise. As the vaseline slowly melted, it would make the scent last longer than without the vaseline.   sam

That's what I did for Steel but added the anise to the vaseline. Gonna have to give the catfish trick a try soon for the kids. The old lady knows I'm crazy  so she'll just think I lost it again....
