You are right Fish, the fix IS in. It will definatley go to one of the five who got involved, and submitted a picture.

ORIGINAL: tippy-toe Is the fix in ???? Skip about to net a flopping fish is the leading photo... Sorry Skip whoever you are.....LOL Tippy, your opinion is as valid as the next person's. A flopping fish is not always a caught fish, especially for someone who was crushed by a falling car not so many years ago. I chose that shot to enter because of it's content relative to the sponsoring organization(PSA), the action shown, and the frozen position of the fisherman. The man is fishing, and fishing well. If you prefer another shot, so be it. I actually prefer a couple other shots over that one, but at least it's there. Where's yours? Hmmmmmm?

I would like to thank Skip for catching all the fish that day, giving me something else to snap photos of other than rock formations. Thank you to all who voted, not just for my picture, but for all the photos. They were all great shots. There's a good chance I won't be able to make it to the meeting, as we are burying my Grandfather that morning, and I'll be seeing lots of family from out of town. Save me a chair, but don't be surprised if I don't show.

My shot of Skip won the contest. Now that it's over, I can honestly say that I truly thought the photo of the youngster holding his first chromer was going to win. At the very least, I thought my Easter Rainbow would have done better than the shot of Skip netting the flopping fish (as Tippy-toe would say), but a win is a win. Once again, thanks to all who voted. http://www.pasteelhead.org/ht/photoContest.html I have always taken photographs, and now that I'm back to fishing nearly as frequently as I did as a kid, I really like having the camera along on my trips. I'm still learning the digital format, and the compact size can't be beat, but there's nothing like an actual photograph. I'm going to have the opportunity to teach an old dog some old tricks this weekend. A certain somebody has un-earthed his wife's Pentax K1000 and wants to learn how to use it. Since that's the same camera I've shot several thousand photos with, starting with my college photography course, I believe I'm qualified. We are making a trip for mountain trout this weekend (my first trip to Pennsylvania's highlands without a rifle), so there's no better time or place. It's kinda neat being young enough to have grown up while digital was just coming out and now is blossoming, yet old enough to have had a couple decades experience with film. If I want to take it back to old-school, I'll have to aquire darkroom supplies. Anybody out there getting rid of any??? I'm sure we'll be posting the results from the lesson, and who knows, maybe an actual photograph will win next year, instead of a digital shot.
