The price of oil has gone up 50% plus in less than a year. Supply has remained relatativley stable, (Has demand in creased that dramatically?  no ), tensions in the middle east are not significantly worse than a year ago. so what is the reasoning? Government reaction to the credit cruch has devalued the dollar, which accounts for some of it. Speculators using oil prices as their own hedge against inflation ( creating a sef fulfilling profecy ) plays another part. More than anyhing else, it's what you read here. No matter how high it gets "I'm not cutting back". Folks cannot, and should not be expected to give up the things they love, but if we are not willing to "sacrifice" a little bit, it will only get worse. I'll admit, that I have gone fishing "somewhere" every day the past few weeks, but my trips have been ALOT more local than they might have otherwise been. As long as they know we are willing to bend over, they're gonna keep ramming. And charge us extra for K-Y.

    I was planning on fishing for walleye in Ohio this year, but that is out the door now. Boatpooling is the way to go, 3 of us have boats and we love to take our boats out. This year I think we will be taking turns and splitting the gas. Thank god we live in Erie so the drive isn't much.

    Thinking of making a sail for my boat for trolling. Anybody interested??? I'll sell them cheap, they will cost less than it does to fill up my buddies 21ft Trophy

Same old story oil co. gets the uranium and we get the shaft. Can't spend what you don't have .Sounds good I'll fish no matter what but tell that to you kid who needs something for school etc. Sorry Kid daddy going Fishing. Heard the gas will be 7.00 by Aug. Boycott! It worked before.
