Connoquenessing Smallies

First post so hello all. Been fishing from just above Ellport to down past the park for the past few years now and havent done too well. Did great about three years ago in the early part of april and through the begininning of summer. Found some nice holes and were catching decent smallies. One day we even caught a bunch of brookies on jointed raps. Also caught a few Walleyes down in where the slippery rock comes in below the bridge.

Anyone fish this area with any tips or reports from last year? thinking about goin up when the weather breaks.

Small rebel crayfish or skitter pop after dark work great.  I can't wait for walleye season to get here.  Last year was the first time I heard of countless nice walleye being caught from trusted friends.  Can't wait to actually target them.

Is there any big pools like the one right by Zona tours there below the bridge where the Slippery Rock meets  at the confluence?

Last year as we were leaving that spot there were some folks showing up late night for muskies in that pool. They said they've caught them in there and they can get big. Wouldn't be suprised at all.

ok quantumman let's hear about your favorite place to fish and we need specifics too, name, street number, hole name etc.  i didn't think so.  i don't care if you want to say such and such stream/river/lake is good and what you caught, on what bait; let's not take all the fun away from letting people find their own holes to fish.  unless you want to do it privately, that's ok.  but hey everyone do what they want and if your hole gets crowded, i'm happy for you too.

I will Google Map it for ya folks....get ya the LAT / LONGS

I highly doubt that the revelation of a hole is going to result in a "first day of trout" type scenario.

I've known about the Connie for years now and have never made the trip, the Yough is closer and there's just as many bass in there.  Doubt this post is going to make me make a special trip out there, well anymore than one that I would of been making anyway.  I do want to hit that area at least once!  I'll just hitch a ride with D-Nymph...

And while you're google mapping stuff, how about google maping me the location of the chick in your avatar...

I thought the whole point of this website was for info.  You know, to help people catch more fish... There's a lot of people that don't get out much.  If I can somehow help them catch more fish when they do get out, I'd be glad to.
Like spoonchucker said, it sure doesn't seem to get fished much.  I rarely see anyone fishing it when I go.

hey quantum  i'm going to take you up on that offer.  i'd like to get to know shenago, i've never fished it.  i've never said i would not give anyone any info, i've have and will continue.  but i don't like to give specific spots over the internet.  if you were to pm me or i take you out, i'm an open book.  as for the connie,  anyone that want to float it with me is more than welcome, i have extra kayaks, and i'm always looking for help with shuttles.  how about it quantum, up for a float trip?

This post is funny, because I think I might fish it this year, in part because of this post.  I only live 10 minutes away, drive over it on almost every fishing trip I make, but I haven't fished it since I was about 10 years old.  I caught lots of little smallmouth on flies then, fishing right off the road while my dad was cutting firewood.   I have no idea why I've never put any effort into fishing it since.    In the areas viewable from the road, I can count on 1 hand the number of people that I've ever seen fishing it.

    Stillhead,
It's a nice place to try on a night when the trout aren't hitting.   Just watch out for the itchweed.  It's everywhere along the shoreline.

I've fished the stream a bit at the beaver/butler county line. There's a few spots I found but never really caught much. I'm clueless as to where to go on that stream. It's tough finding a good spot when you don't know the area really well.
Haven't been much north of it past the plaza where 68 turns north out of the main drag.
