Tough closer on a tough season
My fishing partner and I chase walleye around a good bit. I am sorry to see the season go out (except for the fact that I can get some stuff done that I have neglected too long). I fished until 11:30 in Huntingdon county at one of the most pressured access points to the river there is. It is amazing to pull into a PFBC access lot on a cold, rainy night in mid march to see 10+ cars. Everybody was chasing the last eye sammich before the season ended. Thursday night a few were caught and I heard a fish story about the big one that got away. Friday night I went with my fishing buddy but did not find eyes. In fact most people were leaving to get out of the rain, shortly after dark. The only thing that I could manage was a rather large fall fish that decided to smack my new firetiger stick bait!
Anybody know where there is open water on a lake or dam?? I got the boat out today and charged the battery. Ice off crappies are NEXT and I am pumped.
