Engine fouling

I have a 15' with a 115 hp. The problem is when I'm trolling the motor starts to foul up and stalls. Then it's hard to start. Running 50:1 for oil. Got that info from Mercs website. Also it doesn't pee going that slow almost like a mist. Is it time for motor work? Or are these just to big to go that slow? Really want to get those eyes.

I used to add Mercury Quicksilver quickleen to my 2 stroke Opti before I bought my kicker, and it worked well. Sounds like you need a new impeller.

Could be the impeller, could be blockage ( bugs like that little hole ). Try running a piece of weedwacker string down through it.
Also a pair of trolling socks will let you stay slow, while running at higher RPMs, and avoid fouling.

Pop it into neutral and rev the rpms every hr or so while trolling to clean the carbon off the plugs. I'd also run seafoam in your gas if you haven't been.

I would think, bad impellor or bad thermostat

Definitely would replace the impeller, it should be streaming at idle once the thermostat is opened up. You could mix a can of gas a little leaner for trolling, just don't run it at higher rpm's. Back in the day that's what everyone used to do. Kicker motor is the way to go if you can swing it...

Replace impeller and thermostat as stated above.
Also replace the poppit valve if that motor has one.

Thermostat might actually be stuck open causing the motor to run too cold at idle causing it to goo up.

And, if you're not already doing so, use GOOD quality synthetic 2 cycle oil like Pennzoil or Quicksilver...not the cheap Wal-Mart blue jug stuff, the synthetic burns much cleaner.
If your motor is oil injection, it might need some attention as it may be pumping too much oil at low speed.

if it's oil injected, there's no need to pre-mix....unless the oil pump has been removed.

Have to pre-mix. I only use Quicksilver.  I picked up a impeller today and some Quicksilver quickleen. I'll pick up a thermostat tomorrow and let you all know the outcome. Thanks alot for the info.

Never ending. Everything worked when I started it in the yard. Took it to Shades and drove it off the trailer watching it pee until my passenger came back from parking the trailer. Got 50 yards from the ramp and it stop peeing. Then the smell of gas came. Got it home and put the muffs on it and sure enough gas coming out of the brass screw of the top carb. Any ideas why this happened?

change the impeller and go with a syn oil it will cut back on the fouling of the plugs yamaha syn or = to it will smooth out and as far as hard start may be a thermostat but do the impleller first and switch oil if you change the plug to go hotter it will heat the piston up on high rs

Everything is good again so far. Took the lower end off again ran water thru the tube everything good. Then I saw it a rubber seal inside the new impeller base tube. looked like it was bent over already. Took it out and now she shoots water again.
