    i got em.

If your tracks are properly secured to the top of your gunnel. You will not have a problem at all. I think mine are 4' long. At the start and finish plus every foot incraments there are two 1/4" through bolts. They arent going any where.
These rod holders are strong as nails, i can run dipsys all day. I have had 3 dipsy rods plus a rigger on one side with no problem. Berts also has alot of other componants that work with the track. Also, alot of other manufactures products work with berts track. I also like the versatility of the track. I can change things up through out the day with ease. Rigger, dipsy, big board, little board what i need just slide the holder up and down the track. This is hard to do with a fixed rod holder.
There are two things i dont like
There are expensive, and I dont like the thumb screws on the rod holder bases to mount them, or rotate the holders. This winter in gonna try to get a thumb screw that is a little easier on the fingers.

    Hope this helps.........

I may consider a set of trees this year to. (Now that we have a 3 rod limit) Anybody running trees?

The tracks are awesome, just make sure the rod holder you get will hold up. Stay away from the plastic ones. Berts, traxstech, and i think cisco now all have tracks that are basically the same, so any of their products can be used on any track.

    eye,
I was thinking the same thing on the trees. I saw a set of 4 rod holder traxstech trees on ebay a while back. Kinda regretting not pulling the trigger on those...

Ya my buddys buying a set for his fishmaster. I may too if i have the cash (not any time soon). Im getting tired of spending all this chedder. Its getting old.
I watched fishing 411 last week. Mark R was running them for salmon fishing in lake M. It sure clears up the gunnel area. His trees were up by the helm. It would be nice to stack the dipsy rods on the trees.
Will they work for big boards? I imagine little boards would.

    Thanks Ken!

DrumR, that would be my concern too. I hate to have a rod pulled out. Im sure its all in the placement.

To minimize the chances of having a rod pulled out (or bounce out when traveling) we drilled a hole in the base of the holder, bought a pack of the short bungee cords which have the hooks on both ends.... hooked one end into the base of the tube holder and sqeezes the S hook closed to tie it in tight, and then simply hook the other end over the base or bar on the reel after you set it in the holder. Remember to set your drag otherwise a snag will pull it out no matter what it's tied in with.
It's not foolproof, but it works for our purposes...

Or buy Traxtech holders...they come with the bungees built right into the holder cap.

Use the end plates on the track, my sliding inserts tend to loosen up. I could see something coming out the end when trailering (not so much fishing when there is pressure on the sliding inserts). The tracks themselves are probably stronger than mounting an individual rod holder because you're spreading the stress over a long area.

+1 on the end plates too, hate to see one of your holders bounce off the gunnel and into the drink
