Fishhawk TD

Has anyone tried this yet? I'm thinking of getting one and finding out exactly how deep my reef runners are getting. Wondering how much the buoyancy of the unit effects the depth, if at all.

Used one this year. It's not the buyoncy you have to worry about, it's more of a wieght than anything. Didn't use it much since we were always "in the zone", but definetly a good tool to have in the bag. If I had a choice between having the TD and the Speed and Temp, I would rather have the speed and temp probe.

i have both. The td is an amazing little tool.  Its great for getting actually depths that the dipsys and leadcore are reaching.  As for the x4 system, It worked flawless for us this year.  Great unit.  If you youtube the fishhawk td and watch steve small with small program charters video he explains alot.  He seemed to have a buoyancy issue but when i check depths with my slide divers i just use a foot leader to keep it short so it doesnt float as high. For leadcore i add one ounce.

Apologies for resurrecting a dusty thread, but here's an interesting view the little TD gave us last year that we'd have never been sure about without some type of down temp device
