Looks like "the bucket" to my eyes.

no its above the bucket at the tip of the island just before the tail of the glide..

btw..
that atv trip to go snag some carp resulted in me just getting home from hospital.. i dumped the atv trying to show my son how 'cool' i was.. end result, broken collar bone.. left arm, at least not my casting arm.. i will be laid up for 6 weeks.. what a dumb azz.. i will be ready to go by salmon season, even if i have to use the old martin auto reel..
so now i guess i'm joining the pill poppin club..

p.s.
see that slack water along shore above and to the left of him. in high water thats where you want to fish.. the salmon will blow right through the riff and settle down there before dissapearing into the abyss of the glide.. thats the migration path.. now $350.00 please for that guides tip.. lol..

Crap now I'm conagious.
Sorry to hear and best luck with the healing process.
Hope there is no longer a doubt in his mind about your coolness factor.

A no weight thing would be ridiculous for our fish, but it serves the purpose well for the Real Atlantic Salmon I feel.

Agreed salmo, but the snobbery that comes with that whole scene makes me question if I ever really want to spend the money to do it....

count drakeyoula; many rivers do require I believe most nova scotia rivers you CAN fish WITHOUT a guide. Most new brunswick require a guide. Quebec im unsure of. I know many rivers that flow in to the restigouche do not require a guide. The restigouche is completely private so guides are necessary. My father ran in to jim rusher 3 years ago in the town near where he was staying to fish the restigouche. Jim firmly told him that guides and private waters aren't necessary and also there is plenty of public water that gets plenty of large fish moving through it. So; yes and no is the answer drakeyoula

Btw, most canadian rivers are claiming to be having their best returns in 30 years....

perhaps they are employing the same marketing director as the DSR....

thanks for info on the Great White North-

as you know by now - I am anti-pay-2-fish. Moreso if I would be force-fed an over-priced Guide.
