west lake in fulton county has 4 inches minimum of good ice.  if i didnt work the weekends id be up there in the morning but ill have to wait until wed morning.

if at first you dont succeed... blow it up.

you want organic? well then shut the &^$() up and eat a *$&#*( squirrel.

Welcome back and I checked with my friend in Gloversville and he's not so sure that West Lake is that safe. With the rain/sleet/snow scheduled for tomorrow it may ruin what had set-up last night.

shouldnt be too bad since its not going to be too high above freezing for too long.  Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be highs of like 14 there so it will definately harden up fast.  ill be going up on wed morning.  got some new tipups with 500 foot spools i need to try out in about 8 feet of water.   caroga and canada lake had ice on them too but i usually dont fish them very much so i didnt  check.  i fished west lake for about 2 hours before work today.  caught 14 perch and one pickerel all jigging.  4-5.5 inches of ice.

Thanks for the update or West Lake. Have you had any luck on Caroga??? Never caught much there, but have had some fun outtings with others. A few perch and lots of pickerel with little luck on catching the trout they say inhabit that lake.
Will probably check out Round Lake on Tuesday. This year will be a zoo on Lake Lonely with the bridge closed at the northern end of Saratoga Lake. Have to get there at 5am to have a chance of getting the good spots on the weekend.

i gave up on caroga.  its the only lake ive been skunked on and sereral times at that.  if i want trout i usually go to canada lake or otsego.
