spey rods at Cabelas Hamburg bargain cave

Took the kids to the Big C this morning.........bargain cave had maybe 7 spey rods.....all Cabela's brand.......
 
15 10 wt
14 foot 9/10
 
I think that is what they were........a few rods had the cabelas name on them--rod with green wraps.......then they had brown spey rods with no markings other than the sale sticker the store put on them--sale price on these rods was 75 bucks each
 
if you want a cheap spey rod........guess it isn't getting any cheaper......

    IMO way to heavy, long, for erie sthd. The 14' 9/10 would be ok for salmon river chinooks. For erie big water - lake, Grand, or Catt. a 12'6" 5/6 or 6/7 wt is just about right.

    I think they'd be worthy of Salmon River lead slinging .

    Actually there is a big margin for error in casting with the LST. Doesnt matter whats written on the rod its what the rod can do for you.

    Not the ROD itself.......just everything that is Cabela's is not worthy of anything at all, my opinion--........I could care less about any Cabela's product, but certain there are a few folks on the board who like Cabela's stuff---I don't.......
     
    just trying to pass along a deal to those who would like Cabela's Stuff......never said what to fish for:  steelhead on a 15 foot 10 wt spey on Erie Tribs !!! or what series they are: LST !!!  the rods were not marked
     
    just trying to help out......but you guys know everything?
