stayed at camp.  it was very cold saturday morning but the kids toughed it out w/ help from gramas hot chocolate until 9:30 am. they were still biting every cast when we quit. it got windy and we didnt want the kids getting too cold.

got the kids fish back today, thought many of you may want to see the end of the story. they will look good on the wall of the camp.

Awesome pics, but have you ever thought about teaching them the value of CPR. Catch, Photo & Release.
But nice job anyways, I love taking my kids fishing, that's what it is all about. They are our angling voice of the future.

kids can do whatever they want with their catch............whatever makes them smile.......release it, keep it......mount it........eat it........if it's legal.......anything goes.......sometimes my kids want to put them back........sometimes they want to eat them.......I don't care.......they are 4 and 5.......I'm proud of them on many levels......especially when we go somewhere and trash is all over the place.........all I here......look daddy somebody littered.......can you give them a ticket!!! I say........I'm not a fish cop anymore and that I can't.......they are learning the ways of nature......love being outdoors.......listening to owls.....flower ID........playing with the bugs in the creek.........and by gosh darn golly.......if they want to string up a fish, stocker or wild......so be it.........they caught it....their decision.......

great brookies.......and I bet the kids are happy knowing that their catch is on the cabin wall.....outstanding work Dad !!!

Nice job pop ... Now not only do they have a memory but the mounts can be passed down for generations .

Perhaps striking many conversations and keeping traditions alive in your family . Nice mounts too thx for sharing .

my little dude, 4  years old.......landed a 17 inch smallmouth today from our local creek.........I let him cast for the first 30 minutes.......but he couldn't reach the shady deep water---he was catching a few smallies and rock bass.......so I started casting......--I'd cast and just hand the rod to him.........then all of a sudden he was being dragged into the water........it was awesome........the drag was screaming.......little dude put on his game face......took him over 5 minutes to land......it was awesome watching him.......smiling.....grunting.......the only downside was that my camera was in my shed.........I NEVER GO FISHING WITHOUT MY CAMERA !!!  so no pic.....just a great memory for me and the kid..........his sister was happy for him........thought she would be mad, since we went fishing right after we dropped her off at school !!!!  we fished for about 2 hours......lots of fish landed !!!  more smiles........and many worms sacrificed to the smallmouth gods---the fish released..........
