(rod going over rail times speed of rod traveling through water What are the odds ??? Went back to the river today with my daughter and fiance . Rigged up an old rod with a treble and an old bank sinker, and caught the rod I lost thur. on the first cast ! Hook went through the last eye on the rod. I dont think I could do that even if I could see the rod. Got a few decent carp too ! Thur night and fri. morning all I had to do was enter the charge # and I would have replaced it. Is a nice grafite setup that I use for tossin tubes. Glad it's home !! Maybe I should have stopped and played the lottery on the way home......

Last summer my dad lost my niece's princess pole that she had just gotten that day for her birthday. He was dozing off, and it took off right into the water. 10 minutes or so later I reeled in one of the poles I had out, and lo and behold here comes the little princess pole through the water. Once I got it and reeled it in there was a little carp as the culprit. Must be a carp thing.

Thats cool ! The only other time I did that was Years agoat Elk jetty. I noticed that his bail was closed and being as we were killin a few beers, I warned him. He said 'I've been fishin for years and I've never had a rod pulled" bam it was gome ! Bout 45 min later I hooked his line, salmon still attached, handed him his rod, and he got the fish in ! Although I also remember I got skunked and was lookin for one for the smoker and he ended up givin it to someone else !

What I posted above is the sign I actually made for Al------hung it on his rod stand at our Wilhelm carp outing a few years back: He still has it as far as I know.

ORIGINAL: clay516 LOL nice!!!!!!!!!! Al earned that sign. If ya fish with him any amount of time, you will witness an incident with him and his fishing gear. Yinz should of been there the time he jumped off the wall at Twin chasing his rod into the drink and caused a tsunami. Someone posted a pic of him standing in the lake after his wall jump and posted it on another forum at the time of the incident------I'll have to dig it up and post it here. I hope Al doesn't forget to engage his baitrunner drags today at Arthur, it be kinda cold to be runnin' into the lake chasin' your rod today. Al's on here, I'm sure he can verify what kind of klutz he can be around his fishing equipment.
