Looking to get a new boat for lakes with 20hp limit. I did most of my fishing on lakes with unlimited hp. down south. My wife likes bass fishing and my old bass boat has seen better days. We are getting old so, I prefer a deep v (a little more to hold on to) I want a single console for sure. Crestliner, sea nymph, lund are they all about the same? I think with a 20 I should go with a boat no more than 17 ft. Am I thinking right? Any help would help. Thanks

A 20 on the right 17 foot hull will probably still plane unless you load up heavy. Most aluminums are welded hulls these days and they are not all created equal. If you're buying new I would check the usual web sites and see what the used ones are selling for, that may be a good indicator of quality. I do know that Fisher has a bad reputation, not from personal experience but from researching before buying a boat several years ago. Lund has a good reputation but they are pricey.

have you been to a bass pro shop to look at the tracker boats? They have a nice entry level setup for around $8K and then bigger, deeper hulled boats for slightly more.

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

I bought a Lowe 16.5 ft aluminum last year, and am really happy with the boat.  After loading all of me and my wifes fishing gear it doesn't weigh much over 2000lbs and the deep V is very stable on the water.

to add to my previous post...that is with a 50 hp 4 stroke motor, so you would be even less with the 20hp
