Brookies Are Back

this was supposed to be a week of salmon fishing but with the conditions and crazies up there i decided on some peace and quiet fishing
with only a week left of trout season (practical) and a change in plans
i have open dates from now until oct-15th if anyone wants to pond fish for brookies
please let me know asap.....

so here is the report and pics.

well i just walked in from a 3 day journey in search of the great brook trout
now i must say every trip is an adventure and i always learn from my adventures.
as you can see from the first pic. i learned never to overload the kayak again
behind the seat is a inflateable raft and a tent
it was unstable.
also i learned that ths is a crazy year, the pond temps were still in the high 60's > 65 in the am, 67 in pm strange for oct....
as for the fishing it was outstanding, no real huge fish like the spring but plenty of JUST brookies.. they were hitting all day long
did i miss the Salmon River maddness ? Yea Right............
i did not see a human or hear a plane for 3 days
so on with the show.

the only way in

now the hike uphill begins

here is what lies at the end of the rainbow

home sweet home

the great rewards

I could use some company out on the water this weekend. Give me a shout if you're still free. Maybe we can drag ReelForce away from his wife too.

Tuna:  Nice pics.  Do you stick to fly fishing for brookies in the ponds?  The fly in the pic looks like an egg imitation.  Do you use flies that are impressionistic or try to match the hatch?  What ones are your favorites?  I do some pond fishing for brook trout myself and usually have to go it alone as I'm in my mid 50's and most of my friends are no longer up for the hike in.  If you would like, I might be interested in doing a trip together in the spring--be glad to show you some of the ponds I have fished in the southern Adirondacks.

    to all
just got back from the Salmon River today, mixed feelings but i wont go there.
i guide my clients into the hike in ponds and i have all next week open (for hire) if interested
where i take folks i'm anticipating the next brooktrout record to be
    so that’s the deal
i'd love to get together with folks here and just fish for the day, if thats the way my offer was taken
if thats the case i can(if not booked) fish next sat or sun 10/12-13
i have a pond in mind which has a mixed bag of trout or we could stream fish instead
pm me for what you’d like

    Eagle:
    the brookies love red
    stimulators(red),professors , coachman’s & leaches
i'd be honored to spend a day with you in the spring
hopefully we can walk on some hard water this year, only i'm liking a day on the king for Lakers instead of Saratoga perch, if you'll agree (my treat)
