11/09/2009 First bow buck
Typical morning that i had heard about in the past but was yet to experience personally. Got into the woods early and found what i thought was a good tree to climb; got up 20 ft. and just couldn't get secured with the climber. At that point thought here we go, another great morning. Got down and walked another 40 yards into the woods found a "small" tree and decided the heck with it and went up. Got up and decided i didn't like the direction i was facing so i let my bow down, yet again, and repositioned, again. By that time it was getting pretty much light out and my thoughts on the hunt deflated as well. I get my bow up and look out and there was a half rack that i've seen all year long with his nose down making his morning rounds. Watched him for several minutes till he disappeared. At that moment all hell broke loose and i see three doe running as hard as they could below me, then i catch a glimpse of as to why they are. I see ths fellow running them and grunting while in pursuit. The doe cut up the hill towards me and pass directly under my tree and he follows up the hill. Finally on the third attempt to stop him i make what sounded like a two stroke bike scream for him and he stops broadside at 10 yards. Held the pin and let er go. He turned and took four jumps and stood there at 30 yards for what felt like hours. He went to get going again and dropped right there. What an amazing feeling. We had seen him when he was in velvet and knew he was around but had not caught a glimpse of him at all during the season. Now i'll be able to look at him for the rest of my life on the wall. Amazing, amazing experience.

Come on! I wanna see it. Cool story, congrats on the bow kill, sure it will be a memory forever.
The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.
