i wish kinzua once a weekend while camping - i did not get ANYTHING.   if you wanna catch carp, by all means go ahead.  but i was going for walleye/musky.  this was a few years ago.  Theres obviously some beasts in there but dang hard to hook.  It all depends on what you're trying to fish for....

If you are staying in PA waters go to Sugar Run or the area south of Redbridge.
You can launch a small boat from either area.
I am not sure if the docks are still in at the larger launches.
North of PA is almost all Seneca Reservation and you will need a special license-some say that this is the best area to fish.
Hook, Line & Sinker  or Slavens Country Cupboard between Willow Bay and Bradford both sell live bait and might be your only source of info in the area.

Use your fish finder to find all the fish boxes and trees they put in the lake. Maps will help and can be picked up at bait stores.  Dont be afraid to get off your boat and walk the edges where trees are in the water. The lake will be 25 feet lower than summer pool.  ridges and humps will be easier to fish. Walleye Jigs and drift crawler harnes. The other guys spoons are my choice.  big crappy and bluegills walk on any log and jig. Watch out for the bass, couple years ago a nice small mouth toke me by surprise and fell off the log. Have fun.

THANKS GUYS!!!...I fished Kinzua14 hrs on Sat. and 5 hrs today, got a few nice walleyes , only 5 with two guys on the boat, used crawler and minnow jigs, trolled some with no luck. We used the lowrance unit while looking for them but didn't see near what we hoped too. Worked the lake from Elijha lunch, not sure on the name spelling, up past the NY line, had the best luck in Sugar Bay. I taslked to guys in 4 other boats, no one was doing very well, we were all using the same baits and tactics just a off weekend.
