River Musky

Caught this beautiful, Middle Allegheny pure-strain, parallel to a riffle, with a very large prop-bait.

Fish hit 10 yards from the boat. I probably got it in a little too quick though. The fish was VERY green....snappin' and jukin' until I got him under control.

The most dangerous thing about deliberately catching/fishing for musky, are the baits themselves, with their multiple/huge trebles.

Fish was photographed, then released back into the river unharmed...to be caught again on another day.

I feel the same way, when they get ahold of the lure then they are armed........ I love catching them but as soon they are in the excitement ebbs and fear sets in.....
