Salmon, Trout and Steelheader magazine, published by Frank Amoto. (www,amatobooks.com)  The copy I'm looking at says $29.95 per year but i think there is usually a coupon in each issue at a cheaper rate. Let me know if your interested in it and i'll check the next issue for the better deal.

Yep, trout salmon and steelheader magazine is still printing.  I just ordered a subscription through my friends granddaughter's girl scout troop fundraiser.

"Sure, we can assiduously three-quarter our wets downstream, mend and wait out each fly swing, over and over again, which to my way of thinking, anyway, relegates the angler to the role, not of nemesis as it should be, but of butler."

The Magazine that I got for years was the "Great Lakes Fisherman". They went out of business quite awhile ago. That's were I got the plans for my first planner boards. They were single boards. There were no double boards at the time, that I know of. Board was cut like the double boards and had the eye bolt, but for it to ride upright you had to screw a bar of metal on the under side. Of course didn't work as good as doubles. That was about 1979.

I think if you order the 3yr subscription you get the nifty STS filleting knife made by Kershaw, a very sharp pig sticker.

I used to get that years ago. Back then it was 90% West Coast. Maybe different now. Glen

It's still that way and probably an even higher percentage but they do offer some rigging advise etc. that seems helpful to me.  If my subscription ran out sooner than may 2012 I would jump on the 3 year offer for the Kershaw knife. Hopefully I'll be steelheading for the next 5 years but I'll be 70 and who knows what the future will bring.

Good Idea. What would be a good title?
    Here's one possibility:

Magazines are not the most profitable things to start in this tech world, perhaps an online mag might work though.

Have to admit, it's tough to not put together a mock up cover for the first issue...

"I'd love to see the good folks at fisherie.com start up a magazine, all about Erie area."

With all the whining that the reports page, and discussion board, have "destroyed" the fishery?
Yeah, that would be great idea.
